Mr. Sandeep Jajodia, the current EVC & MD, started his career in 1982 under the able guidance of his father Mr. M K Jajodia. During the next eight years he developed the skills and learnt the intricacies of international business. In 1994 Mr. Sandeep Jajodia ventured into the business of manufacture of Ferro-Alloys, by setting up a green field plant of modest capacity at Raipur, Chhattisgarh.  Subsequently Mr Jajodia promoted Monnet Ispat Limited (now Monnet Ispat & Energy Ltd) and set up its first Sponge Iron facility of 1,00,000 MT/annum.  As a next step he has expanded the value chain both upstream as well as with downstream units. Steel melting facilities and rolling mills were set up at Raipur. He has further gone ahead to expand the installed capacities by setting up another greenfield  project for steel making for 1.5 million MT/annum at Raigarh in Chhattisgarh. In order to make the steel making operations sustainable, coal mining and iron ore mining for captive purposes were initiated. The group has then acquired capabilities for coal washing for both captive and contract basis.

In addition Mr Sandeep Jajodia has foreseen the strategic importance of energy and the role it is going to play in the world. Accordingly he has gone ahead to provide energy security to its units by venturing into power genration from flue gases from sponge iron making process. Further to synergies its strengths in coal mining and power generation, activities are in progress to commission an Independent Power Project of 1050 MW at Angul in Orissa under a sister unit Monnet Power Company Limited.  All ventures promoted by him are running successfully. MIEL is now the flagship company of the Monnet Group.

Mr. Sandeep Jajodia is a man of exemplary vision and leadership. Under his able stewardship the group has diversified into power generation, mining, mineral beneficiation and foreign collaborations.

Mr. Sandeep Jajodia is presently the Executive Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Monnet Ispat & Energy Limited. He also served as the chairman of Sponge Iron Manufacturers Association (SIMA).

Apart from being a pragmatic business man, Mr Sandeep Jajodia is a human being and a person of compassion.   He is an ardent player and fan of cricket and his presence in sports arena has been a regular feature. However he has a compassionate side where his contributions to the society at large are on view through his philanthropic activities. His stress on giving back to the society has manifested into strong CSR activities of the Group through Monnet Foundation, whose interventions are currently on in the States of Chhattisgarh, Orissa and Delhi.
